Here in Reno it will get down into the teens pretty regularly and occasionally it will drop well below zero (fahrenheit). There are definitely chunks of ice floating around in the river each morning with the nights being in the low 20s.

And the river is open year round with no off-season

Good to see your out in the cooler weather. How cold does it get down there at its worst? Are you allowed to fish year round? Rainbows spawn in the spring, is there an off season?

Grabbing the camera is the last thing on your mind when you're running to the river to fish, hard to snap a cell phone picture when you're hands are wet too! I saw some fish surfacing just yesterday around noon, there was a BWO hatch and they were hovering all over the surface of the water, I couldn't nymph em' the water had a ton of debris in it, at least that was my excuse to myself why I didn't catch anything. Tried any dries?
