Shlupdate

Well I thought I'd just stop by here and offer a quick update. Firstly I've been hitting the truckee a little bit with mixed results-- mostly the fishing is a bit slow with the most significant hatch still being those BWO's and they seem to range in size-- on warm days I've seen them up to about size #12's. On a particularly tough day I got the skunk but got to see this beast get caught (more details here):

Other than that I've been particularly blown away by the patterns showing up on the weekly fly particularly Harley Reno's Orcky and Willy Self's crazy rabbit

Also the fly factory himself has been putting up some awesome patterns made with craft store material for those cheap-ass guys with a limited budget. Check these out-- the first was made with a type of gorilla glue and the second with a type of stretch cord from wal-mart. Awesome.

  1. Great find with that blog. His GGlue stuff looks great - his lady bug was killer but I'm sure the ant would be more effective. Keep up the money saving posts man. I love It!! P.S. I think we all should rename the 'craft stores'. Eyebrows raise when you tell a buddy "I'm heading over to the craft store for some yarn." Lets call them....secondary fly tying supplers. just a thought :-)
