Well I've been a slacker here lately, simply posting random crap until I can get it together to write something about fishing that might (but probably won't) have some substance to it. But the real news is that I've been commandeered to create and contribute to a blog for the Reno Fly Shop! This is pretty exciting as this could end up being a great resource once the reno fly shop guides start putting up some content (I'm secretly... or not so secretly... hoping for fly tying competitions, giveaways, fly tying videos etc.).

  6. Selling out? I really hope y'all don't see this as selling out-- that's why I've created a separate blog. I haven't had advertisements on this page except to plug other blogs or in mentioning a product I like. I hope to keep it that way. I will still be posting ideas on how to avoid exorbitantly priced fly tying products. I will still be giving out fly patterns that are made with materials the fly shop doesn't even carry. I will still post stupid pictures of my cats and talk about the drug paraphernalia and the derelicts I run into on river.

    But obviously those things will be found here, not on the reno fly shop's blog. In the end the guys at the fly shop are just fisherman and good things happen when a collaborative forum is contributed to by dudes that know a LOT. That's why I'm excited to put together and contribute to a blog for them. I will probably learn a lot about fishing.

    yeah... but thanks for the warning, it's definitely easy to sell out without giving it a second thought.
