Earlier this month I managed to convince my wife to go fishing with me... well, ok I convinced her to ride in a separate car and snap a few pictures of some fish before she took off. The snow banks along the river have been incredible this year and it was VERY cool to have someone else there to snap some photos. Fortunately, the fishing was great and within an hour I had landed a 20" rainbow, a 16" rainbow (both shown below) and a handful of other fish in the 12"-15" range. My wife wasn't impressed.
In contrast however, I have been very much impressed with my wife's photo skills (for much better examples check out her flickr) and I really liked the following photos (all unedited). Even the over-used "football handoff" fish pose:

Nice looking fish Brian - I'm jealous! You're lucky you can talk your wife into even a few minutes of hanging with you on the river. I like the grandpa look you're going with on that second shot--peeking over the tops of the glasses like that gives you a dignified look :).

ReplyDeleteAnonymous: This trip was the first time I tried the lightning bug prince (check out the 16"er in the last photo) and found it to work. As for the ultra princes I have only tried the red one without luck... but I didn't fish it very hard, and I'm almost 100% sure it will work when red cj's are working. I have high hopes for the blue one-- I will be sure to give an update when I fish it.
Life must suck for you man, 20inches damn nice work. Nice to see a few higher quality photos of your Truckee trout, she does it justice. Nice flies as of late, some good looking stuff coming off your vise for sure. Liked the earrings, I made sure not to let Liz see that man, I could just see it now. Feathers strewn about, materials ruined, all for one set of earrings. Could be bad news for me, I might make her something though. Take care man.
